Welcome to YPP! Now that you are part of the YouTube Partner Program, we’ll cover what you need to know, policies and guidelines to be aware of, and monetization options if you’re looking to earn money with your channel.

  1. Monetization Options

    Now that you are part of the YouTube Partner Program, if you’re interested in earning money, you can start thinking about which monetization features might work best for your channel.

    Remember, being part of YPP does not guarantee that you will earn money and certain features have additional criteria before you can use them on your channel. Check out this recap below:

    Ad Revenue

    What is it?

    Get ad revenue from display, overlay, and video ads.


    Eligibility

    Review and make sure each of your videos meet our advertiser-friendly content guidelines.


    When to use

    Consider ad revenue if your content meets our advertiser-friendly content guidelines.

    Channel Memberships

    What is it?

    Your members make recurring monthly payments in exchange for badges, emojis and to get access to custom perks that you offer and deliver.


    Eligibility

    Have more than 30,000 subscribers.


    When to use

    Consider Channel Memberships if you like to offer special perks, such as behind the scenes footage or early access to your content for paying members.

    Merchandise shelf

    .

    What is it?

    Your fans can browse and buy official branded merchandise that’s showcased on your watch pages.


    Eligibility

    Have more than 10,000 subscribers.


    When to use

    Consider Merch if you have great branding and gear that your fans will love and you work with one of our supported retailers.

    Super Chat & Super Stickers

    .

    What is it?

    Your fans pay to get their messages highlighted in chat streams to make their messages stand out from the rest.


    Eligibility

    Live in a country/region where Super Chat is available.


    When to use

    Consider Super Chat and Super Stickers, if you like to use Premieres and livestreams with live chat enabled.

    YouTube Premium Revenue

    .

    What is it?

    Get part of a YouTube Premium subscriber’s subscription fee when they watch your content.


    Eligibility

    Create content watched by a viewer who is a YouTube Premium subscriber.


    When to use

    If you make enjoyable content and viewers spend time watching them, members are more likely to watch your content.

    Ticketing (Artists only)

    What is it?

    Fans enjoying videos featured on your Official Artist Channel can learn about upcoming concert listings and with a simple click, purchase tickets directly from one of our ticketing partners.


    Eligibility

    A music artist on YouTube in a country where it’s available.


    When to use

    Consider ticketing when you have upcoming concerts or tour dates.
